When someone you love is missing, is there ever a time to let go?
Mylo and Hayley have lived in Laridae all their lives; now it’s falling into the sea. Mylo is missing at sea. His wife, Hayley, must decide if she will leave Laridae and Mylo behind.
Laridae, is a visceral, new play by Sarah Wallis that was originally developed under Leeds Playhouse’s supported writing scheme - Furnace. It explores the human impact of coastal erosion and community displacement, and is a stark reminder of our fragile relationship with nature. At its heart, it is a play about love, hope and the difficulty of knowing when we should let go of something that we fear we may have lost.
Research and development of this project explored three versions of the production offering programmers (and audiences alike) the choice of one, or more, of the following performances of Laridae in:
- British Sign Language (BSL) only;
- English only;
- integrated (bi-lingually with both BSL and English).
