Friendship
On Friday 27 July 2012 - the day that the London 2012 was officially declared open at the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony the value of 'Friendship' was at the forefront of my mind and heart. It continues to be so.

My wrist by Angela Gasparetto
On Wednesday 25 July I had wrist surgery on my left wrist.
How does this make my wrist my friend? Well in an odd and sort of wonderful way it is making me/ giving me the opportunity to:
slow down, take care of myself, listen to by body, appreciate all the movement that I usually get to do (but can't do right now), look forward to swimming and cycling again, force me to allow my body to be a little soft (and for me to be okay with that), spend time with my husband (because I am taking a break), have time to be in touch with my friends (because I am taking a break).
I am struggling with this friendship and I sincerely hope that it is a temporary one (not with my wrist, but the sore, hurting wrist I currently have), however I hope that I continue to carry with me what I am learning and gaining from this new friendship beyond today, tomorrow, this week.
Time, care, listening, appreciation, time spent on my friendships... those are all good things.
Thank you, my little sore wrist.
